A Message From The Chair
Dear Teachers/Conductors/Group Leaders
I hope this announcement finds you, your families and your students enjoying the beginning of Fall.
On behalf of the Music Festival Committee, I want to thank you again for your understanding and support in the cancellation of the 2020 festival. Your kind emails meant the world to all of us.
It is our belief (and that of Ontario Music Festivals Association (OMFA) that due to the uncertainty of the continuing health crisis, it is inadvisable to consider holding a live, in-person festival this year. COVID-19 still has a huge grip on all of us. Being together in person is simply not a possibility this year.
The committee also researched Virtual Festivals. After much consideration of both their benefits and challenges, we have decided that this is a path we do not wish to pursue at this time.
We are very proud of the type of festival we run. We do not feel that we can do justice to a Virtual Festival this year and therefore have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Brockville Lions Music Festival.
On an encouraging note, I have contacted the Ottawa Kiwanis Festival and the Kingston Kiwanis Festival and both will gladly accept any of our students to their Virtual Festivals.
Please visit their websites (found below) for more information about available classes, entry fees, deadlines etc.
We hope that some of you take advantage of these performance opportunities for your students.
We wish you and your students much health and happiness and hopefully we will be together again in April 2022.
Stay safe, stay well, and please keep in touch.
